IT Consulting

Straight answers about technology, before you spend on it.

Most technology decisions are made once, under time pressure, by people who will not be the ones living with the result. That is how businesses end up with the wrong platform, a seven-figure migration, or a stack nobody can hire for. Our consulting work is simple: we help you make those one-way-door decisions with the information an engineer would want, and every recommendation ties to a number, not a trend.

What this covers

Technology strategy & roadmaps

A sequenced plan for the next 12 to 24 months: what to build, what to buy, what to retire, and in which order, with costs attached.

Architecture & code reviews

An honest assessment of what you have: where it will break under growth, what is fine as-is, and what is worth rewriting. In writing.

Vendor & platform selection

Independent evaluation of the platforms you are considering, run against your data and workflows, not the vendor's demo script.

Digital transformation planning

For operations moving off paper and spreadsheets: a realistic phased path that respects how your team actually works today.

How it runs

  1. 01

    Listen

We start with the business problem and the people, not the tech. What is slow, what is expensive, what keeps breaking.

  2. 02

    Investigate

We read the code, query the data, and interview the operators. Opinions are checked against evidence before they reach paper.

  3. 03

    Recommend

A written recommendation with options, costs, and risks, ranked. Never a 90-page deck; always a decision you can act on.

  4. 04

    Stay accountable

If you want, we stay to execute the plan. Our advice is better because we are frequently the ones who have to live with it.

Where this is grounded

Our research concentrates on operations-heavy businesses: logistics operators modernizing dispatch and tracking, healthcare groups weighing build-versus-buy on patient systems, and retailers untangling platform decisions after fast growth. The lab is where that research becomes working software before it becomes advice.

Common questions

How is PeoCode different from a large consulting firm?

The people doing the assessment are the people who build and run production systems. You get engineering judgment and a written recommendation you can act on, not a rotating bench of analysts and a long deck.

Do you only recommend solutions you would build yourself?

No. When buying beats building, or keeping what you have beats both, that is what the recommendation will say. Advisory work only stays valuable if it is independent, and a long relationship is worth more to us than any single build.

What does a typical consulting engagement cost and how long does it take?

Focused reviews, such as an architecture assessment or platform selection, are fixed-fee and run two to four weeks. Broader strategy work is scoped after a free initial consultation, always with a defined end date.

Can you review a proposal another vendor gave us?

Yes. A second opinion on a quote, architecture, or contract is a small fixed-fee engagement, and catching one wrong assumption before signing usually covers the cost many times over.

Talk to us about it consulting.

Describe the systems involved and what is not working. A senior engineer reads every inquiry and replies within one business day.
